New Ride!

Brian and I made our first big purchase together as husband and wife! A new car!

We have been putting so much money into our Jeep for the last year and after this last incident that left me without A/C and a horrible sound when driving we decide it was time to say goodbye to my beloved SUV.

Brian and I joke how we should have kept his Honda that we sold last Christmas when he got promoted. We didn’t think very hard about it we just thought NO CAR PAYMENT! Ohh and that I kinda complained as I loved my SUV. It would now be paid off and I’m sure just running smooth as ever but that isn’t the case. So starting over with a car payment is what we shall do.

Getting a new car made me think about the cars I have had since I turned 16. I was passed down the Little Blue Honda like the one below that I treated like my baby.

There was never a piece of trash to be found or it never ran on empty. No wrecks, no breakdowns, just a perfect little first car that zipped me around town (maybe a little too fast at times) to the places I needed to go.

Next came my dream car! The SUV that my Daddy bought me! We pulled up to the lot…I laid my eyes on it and it was mine!! Oh how I was so excited! But after Day 2 when my car wouldn’t start and I had to have it towed to the shop I should have known this would be my problem car….In a span of 7 years this car has:

  • Been in 2 wrecks both where I wasn’t even in the car…people just hit me. Or wait 3 my mom backed into a car on our move to Wichita.  Still wasn’t even in the car!
  • Needed $1000+ worth of work on the engine last year
  • Multiple tires replaced
  • Window motors fixed
  • Cruise control stopped working
  • No A/C
  • Several calls to AAA for new batteries
  • Tire routers replaced over and over and they still sucked

I’m sure I’m forgetting some things but as you can see my dream car wasn’t that dreamy.

Since Brian gets a discount we thought we would check out the Enterprise lot. I wasn’t too excited as most of their cars don’t have leather or a sunroof. I can do without leather but no sunroof! Come on! I REALLY wanted a Toyota 4Runner but the new ones sure aren’t in our price range when you are saving for a house.

Surprisingly they had this beauty sitting on their lot! A Lexus IS 250. The deal we got on this thing was something we couldn’t pass up. Plus I got my sunroof and leather! With it 90 degrees today I am most grateful for the A/C!

It’s a change to be in a car again but after running errands all day and still being on Full I’m not complaining!

White Trash Crack=Best Snack Ever!

This is SUPER easy to make and SUPER addicting to eat!!! I got this recipe from my Aunt Amy as it is a family favorite! She refers to it as "Bunco Mix" but after Aunt Cyndi got her hands on it the name has been changed to “White Trash Crack!” And after tasting it you will see why!

For Christmas this year I didn’t want to make platters of cookies so I found some cute tins at the dollar store filled them up with “crack” and handed them out to the neighbors! Time spent: 1 hour!

On Saturday, I found some almond bark on sale at Target and since our Kansas Jayhawks were playing in The Final Four it was the perfect time to throw in some Red & Blue M&M's and make it for the game!

All you need is:

6 cups Crispix Cereal
2 cups Square Pretzels
2 cups Dry Roasted Peanuts
2 cups M & M's
1lb Almond Bark

Directions:

Melt the bark in the microwave for 2 min. Be careful not to burn it. Pour over mix and stir. Add M&M's. Mix Well. Spread onto wax paper until hard. Break apart in chunks.

All the ingredients you need!

Everything but the M&M's!

Melt the Almond Bark for 2 minutes. Remeber not to burn it!!!

Add the almond bark and mix well!

Add your M&M's & stir together!

Spread out on wax paper and let it harden. About 15 minutes.

Serve & Enjoy! This was gone in 5 minutes!

Even a K-Stater and Mizzou Grad cheer on the Jayhawks!!

April Fools'!!!

Today is probably one of my favorite Holidays only because I married a man who falls for just about anything!!! One of these days I will probably give him a heart attack since I scare him so much but I just can't help myself!! He must of learned his lesson because after 3 failed attempts I was starting to worry. Nail polish on soap so it won't lather...Fail. Food coloring on toothbrush....Fail. Saran Wrap on Shampoo lid...Fail. But wait.....Fake spilled nail polish on the ottoman...Major Freak Out!
Got 'Em!

Happy April Fools' Day Brian McNeil!!
