Dear Bobbi Jo,

Less than 30 days until you are due to arrive!! The family is so excited to meet you so if you are done cooking feel free to make your appearance anytime. I think your Mama is pretty uncomfortable! Please I beg of you be nice to her during the delivery!

On Saturday, we celebrated Grammy’s birthday at your house, which was the perfect time to put your room together! It turned out pretty darn cute if you ask me! After we watched the Jayhawks beat Mizzou (You had one happy Grammy) the evening kind of went like this…

First a family picture of course...

Your Daddy & Uncles did all the heavy lifting!

While you & your Mama sat back and relaxed!

Your cousin Evan took a break to chill!

But of course is always ready for some funny faces!

Aunt Kate helped change out the boring drawer pulls!

While the boys put together your crib!

We took a break to watch Grammy open presents!

And Evan loved that the boxes made good hiding places!

We added all the finishing touches and your room is complete!
Now don't go grabbing those pictures! Your Grammy got those lined just right!
Mommy & Daddy are ready for you!

Hope you love your new room sweet girl!
Love, Aunt Lane

P.S. I tried out the rocker for you! You're gonna love it!

I went dark...

I have been debating going darker for winter for a while now and I finally did but… I’m not sure I like it! Ha! I’m a rookie when it comes to coloring my hair as I got my first highlights last May. I had been talking about going darker for a while now but I didn’t realize it would be this dark! Brian likes it and I already warned my Mom last night who told me now I’m going to look Goth. I guess I will be the first Goth person to wear animal print and lots of bling! Watch out!

Proud

I'm proud to share that Brian was the top Branch Manager in the Kansas City area for the month of January. Which means he beat out 29 other managers! He will be recognized at dinner tonight on the Plaza!

Way to go Babe!! So proud of you!

40 Days

Lent has begun and since Diet Coke is my usual sacrifice I had to come up with something different since it has been almost 6 months since my last DC! Woo-Hoo! Brian and I have came up with one to do together which is not spend money eating out of the house. Eating out is one of our favorite things to do together as you can see by our waistlines but I calculated we have spent over $350 bucks eating out in the last 40 days.

Do you know the things I could buy off my wish list with $350 bucks……

Coach Purse for Summer
Stella & Dot Necklace
MK Watch

Or I guess we could just put it in savings but what’s the fun of that?!?

Personally I'm also giving up Twitter and I'm only going to look at Facebook 2x/day. Since having a smart phone it is always glued to my hip and I'm constantly checking updates. It's pathetic. Doubt I will miss Twitter but I sure do love my FB!

I just got back from church tonight! Brian ditched me for Happy Hour and my brother had to watch a debate so I went by myself! I tried out Grace United Methodist in Olathe. I really enjoyed the pastor and it was close to our house so I will have to take Brian along one Sunday to see what he thinks.

Last night we enjoyed one last dinner out while celebrating a Wildcat victory over Mizzou!

Hey Jordan……M-I-Z….YOU SUCK! : )

Mrs. Always Right

We had a nice little Valentine’s present to open when we got back on Wednesday from my parents which included this funny card along with some cute Valentine’s décor and spending cash for both of us! Thanks Mom & Dad! This card couldn’t have been more perfect after our trip to the casino. Let’s just say we lost money and it wasn’t my fault!!!

After hearing from a co-worker about the nice rooms and cheap rates at Prairie Band Casino in Topeka we decided to book a night for Valentine’s Day. Brian was able to take a half day so we headed to Topeka later that afternoon. Thank you to my brother for watching Levi! We weren’t too hungry when we arrived so we snapped a cute pic and then headed to play a few slots.

We didn’t make definite plans for dinner as we didn’t want to spend $100 bucks at the sit down restaurant but unfortunately the buffet line was out the door so I suggested pizza from Buzzard's which was about 15 minutes away. My family loves Buzzard’s and I knew Brian would too so we called it in, picked it up and enjoyed a nice, cheap, yummy dinner of pizza and wine!

I was able to catch this cute pic of Hubs playing the slots when he was actually winning. We aren’t big gamblers but I can always just walk way even if I have only won $20 bucks! Brian on the other hand cannot. He blew through his winnings and walked away with nothing.

I was up about $80 and should have just walked away but thought it was too early to stop so I kept going and kept losing! Ahh! I was only up $20 when Brian came and found me. I told him I was done and he said, “What’s $20 bucks? Keep going!” Surprising I started winning again and got back up to $75 and was ready to quit but someone wouldn’t let me. I was like I’m quitting at 60, 50, 40…Never happened. UGH…. Why did I listen to him I also walked away with nothing!

It was all for fun and even though we came away empty handed we still had a fun spending the day with each other!

He was off Wednesday too so I was treated to dinner and a movie!! Rock, Paper, Scissors I got to pick the movie! We went to see “The Vow!” It was cute but I would advise to wait till it comes out on DVD! Mexican was our choice for dinner…no surprise there! Such a nice end to our 7th Valentine’s Day together!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Can’t believe that this is our 7th Valentine’s Day together! We agreed on no presents this year but of course that is never the case. He just arrived home with my favorite color roses and I have been surprising him with a special treat for the past 14 days. I found the idea on Pinterest and I thought it was just too cute! I printed of the tags provided but switched some up in the end! He has even been sweet enough to share his treats with me! I think he is kind of sad they have come to an end! I continued the theme and made another homemade card displayed in the picture below by my beautiful flowers and the cute little bear I found at the thrift store last month. Now I'm just waiting on him to pack and then we are headed to the casino.
Wish us luck!

Uneventful weekend...NOT!

Besides having 2nd Saturday and meeting baby Julian for the first time I wish I could say that the rest of our weekend was uneventful but of course it wasn’t with this guy…..

The make shift cereal box cone didn’t last but was needed because Levi cut open his paw at the park on Saturday which required several stitches. Give us a break Levi! Don’t you want to have big backyard to run in…then stop sending all our money to the vet!

Thankfully it was 2nd Saturday as I was in major need of a drink. Off subject: I’m now a firm believer that Advil Cold & Sinus (must be from behind the counter) is the way to go when you need to kick a cold. I felt even worse after work so I stopped by Friday morning to pick some up. Felt great last night and even better today!

It was Jenny’s turn to pick a place for dinner! We grabbed a quick pic before heading to Brio on the Plaza for yummy Italian!

Julianna, Addie and I heading back to Lenexa and stopped at the neighborhood bar for Karaoke. We had the same waitress from earlier in the day who said, “So you’re back all dolled up!” We must have looked like crap before! Ha! No one had the guts or enough drinks in them to get up and sing but we did sing along to our favorite Whitney songs in her memory!

Sunday we stopped by the Robinson household to meet the newest member! Big Brother Jayden was so excited to show off his new brother! He is so in love and his Mama says he is a great helper!

It seems like yesterday that we were meeting Jayden for the first time! Time sure does fly!

Julian was just perfect! Uncle Pudge and I both got some cuddle time with him but I could have sat there forever!

I took a stab at making a homemade card for the little guy. I still need some practice but I enjoyed making it. It was definitely more time consuming but hey it saved me a couple bucks!

Excited for Valentine's Day this year! Brian and I are going on an overnight trip to the casino! Excited to get away and hopefully win some money so we can pay the vet! LoL JK!

Hair Bow Holder

Ever since I found out I was having a niece I have been collecting bows to add to a hair bow holder I wanted to make and give to her Mama at the baby shower. I had been searching thrift stores for a unique detailed frame but didn’t have much luck. I found this frame stuck in the back of my closet, which had some fun detail and would work perfectly.

All you need for this project is:

· Any size frame (mine was 11x14)
· Spray Paint
· Ribbon
· Burlap
· Glue Gun

Some of these items could be optional such as the spray paint but I thought the white would work better with the room décor. The burlap could also be optional if you felt like leaving the back exposed. I think I might try that look on the next one I make!

I spray painted the frame Heirloom white, hot glued the burlap to the back of the frame and glued the ribbon to the burlap. (Note: I only glued the ribbon at the top and bottom to leave some slack for the bows.) To make it easier on myself I just left some extra fabric hang over and went around and cut it off at the end. It was a super easy project that took no longer than 30 minutes once the frame was dry.

Attach your bows, wrap it up and pray that the baby has hair!

Here's the proud Mom showing off the finished product!

Julian Riley Robinson made his appearance into the world Monday night at 8:26pm. Julia’s C-Section was scheduled for Friday but the doctor felt it was time to get him out. (I haven’t gotten the whole story but I’m sure his Mama didn’t mind having him come a few days early.)

Reason why I haven’t gotten the whole story or even got to meet this sweet boy is because Hubs was sweet enough to give me his nasty cold he has been fighting for the last 2 weeks. He finally decided to go to the doctor last Friday. She let him know he had a sinus and a DOUBLE ear infection. Poor guy!

I have been loading up on the drugs trying to kick this thing. It’s the sore throat and cough that is killing me. Feeling a little better today but don’t want to risk giving Mom or baby anything! But I’m dying to kiss on this little guy!! Saturday is the planned day to go over and hang out with the new family of 4. I’ve been getting lots of picture updates but I will share lots more once I get to see him for myself!

Welcome to the world Julian Riley! Aunt Lane & Uncle Pudge love you so much!
